Our Club

Rotaract Club of River Oaks is chartered in April 2003 and sponsored by Rotary Club of Greenway-River Oaks as a 501(c)(4) identity.  We are a diverse, community-based group that consisted of undergraduate and graduate students (University of Houston, Rice University, University of St. Thomas, Baylor College of Medicine, South Texas College of Law, etc.) and young professionals of various fields ranging from finance, engineering, to real estate.  We are also the proud receiver of the Lead the Way 2006-2007 Rotaract Presidential Citation from Rotary International.

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

About every month or so, we try to fulfill the following areas with different events:

  • Community Service: local volunteering, donation drives, etc.
  • Professional Development: hosting speakers at meetings, etc.
  • Leadership Development: coordinating projects, faciliating events, etc.
  • Social Events: retreats, parties, etc.

Still feeling slightly unsure?  Well, here's a video to show you what we do:

We meet on every other Fridays at 7 P.M at West Gray Cafe. Meetings are also open to discussions of club-related ideas and socializing with members.
